ChatGPT - ever heard of it?

So what is it? I decided to go directly to the source, ChatGPT itself (I don’t like talking behind people's backs, even if they are a robot!)

Back in January, I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts on finances. David Stein hosts a great thirty minute weekly finance podcast Money for the Rest of Us!

In episode number #417 David explores,  "Will Generative AI Replace Your Job?” 

David provides an excellent overview of the basis for his historical perspective on automation.“We discussed how automation and technology, including robots, have always led to massive job losses. But the increases in efficiency and productivity lead to higher overall average incomes that can be spent on goods and services, and that spending creates more jobs.” 

He thought that was all well and good, until he realized that AI could be coming after his job!

“I was particularly struck by an article I read recently, thinking my job as an educator, podcaster, and investment strategist is somewhat protected. There was an article in Futurism, CNET is quietly publishing entire articles generated by AI.  The bi-line for these articles is CNET-Money. The articles are financial explainers.”

Hey! This is what David does! So, he and his producer did a quick experiment. They asked ChatGPT to write a description for a podcast for Davd Stein. In a short amount of time, it came back with a pretty accurate description, not being fed anything else other than David's name and the simple task of ‘creating a script.’  Was it perfect? No! But as the great American philosopher Larry David states, “it’s pretty good. Pretttttttty, pretttttttttty, pretttttty good.”

So let’s break it down.

If we can automate the mundane tasks, enhance human work, and increase wages… that means more spending, and more jobs in other sectors! Great. We have been doing that in contact centers for decades, but how can you do more with less?
